Why should I disable copy and paste on a Blogger blog?

If copy and paste is enabled on your Blogger blog, content thieves will copy and paste your blog post into their blog. This means you can view your content live on other blogs without your permission. I know you can claim Google to get rid of duplicate content.

In my opinion, this is not practical because why would a blogger spend time on all these scams? Do you create content for your audience or do you spend all day complaining? How long will you even sue thousands of content thieves to protect your unique content? I don't do duplicate content the way Google indexes. If someone copies my content and pastes it into their blog, Google will have to block that duplicate content.

In this case, Google does nothing and steals content well. Sometimes Google even assigns higher rankings for that duplicate content.

If you do not want the pressure to complain about the copied content. Then disable easy copy and paste on Blogger blog.

 • Now navigate to the design option.
 • Now click on Add a Gadget in the sidebar or footer section of the blog layout.
 • After clicking Add a gadget, select the HTML / Javascript widget

Warning: This code will block copy and paste for everything on your blog. If you want to share the code on your blog and only copy that content to the user, you can simply refer to Method 2.

Method 2 – Use CSS code to disable copy and paste in Blogger blog
If you don't want to use JavaScript, here is another effective solution to disable copy and paste in Blogger. You can also use a small piece of CSS code to do the same thing.
 • Sign in to your Blogger account and navigate to the Blogger dashboard.
 • Navigate to the theme and then click Edit HTML
 • Next, click anywhere in the HTML code and press Ctrl + F.
 • Pressing Ctrl + F will open a search window in HTML code.
 • Type this </b:skin> to find the end of the CSS code.
 • Now copy the code shown below and paste this code above </b:skin> into your Blogger theme.

CSS Code

body {
user-select: none !important;
-moz-user-select: -moz-none !important;
-webkit-user-select: none !important;
-ms-user-select: none !important;
}
.post-body blockquote, .post-body pre, .post-body code {
user-select: text !important;
-webkit-user-select: text !important;
-ms-user-select: text !important;
-moz-user-select: text !important;
}
 • Click on the save option now to successfully save the code.
Notice: The first part of the CSS code above will stop copying everything on your blog. The second part will allow the user to copy the text inside the HTML "blockquote, pre and code" HTML tag.

If you share the code on your blog and the user only has a copy of that content, you can simply copy all of the code above. Otherwise, copy the CSS block called "body {……}" and apply it to secure everything on your blog.
